adventures in beekeeping

Our beekeeping adventures began several years ago when we inherited a beehive.  The hive did not make it through the winter due to the previous owner's neglect.  We set out to educate ourselves over that winter.  We started that spring by cleaning the hive and building an additional hive to the same dimensions.  We had read it was just as easy to maintain two hives as one, and you would have an additional hive for comparison.  As many of you know, hobbies can become addicting, and our apiaries continue to expand, thrive and grow.

Our education includes endless reading, researching, and continued education through the University of Montana, where Debbie completed her certification to become a Master Beekeeper.  Debbie is also a certified Food Safety Manager.
